Book Review: A Book Of Days By Patti Smith
What a delightful and insightful book this is! It was given to me as a present and not one that I had come across before. Smith documents a circuitous route through her life, with 366 images (Polaroids and phone shots) and drawings each on an individual page and a small narrative explaining the meaning or context of each one. It feels a bit like a scrapbook of some of the important aspects of or influences on her life, organised over a year with meanings connected by the date rather than a linear chronological order.

I spotted this derelict house on a long trail run last weekend and just had to stop and take some photos. The entire roof had collapsed and trees, bushes and ivy were growing inside and clearly has been abandoned for quite a few decades.

The Kingdom of the East Angles was a small independent kingdom of the Angles in England dating from the 6th Century during the Anglo-Saxon period. It was made up from the now English counties of Norfolk, Suffolk and part of Cambridgeshire and was one of seven kingdoms until it was absorbed into the Kingdom of England in the 10th Century.
